Preliminary results of the post mortem on a woman found dead in Kilkenny yesterday revealed she died of a number of stab wounds to the body.
A Garda technical team arrived Kilkenny city earlier today to examine the house where Ms Christine Quinn was found dead last night.
A murder investigation was launched after the body of the 36-year-old mother of two was found by firefighters tackling a blaze in the house on Greenfields Road, Kilkenny city at about 5 p.m.
It is believed she suffered extensive injuries to her head and torso and the fire was set to disguise a crime.
