A post mortem was carried out yesterday on the bodies of an elderly couple found with gunshot wounds outside their house on Thursday morning.
Mr James Gubbins and his wife, Kitty, both 70, were discovered lying side by side behind their bungalow in Oola village, Co Limerick. A licensed shotgun belonging to Mr Gubbins was found nearby.
Gardai in Tipperary said they are not looking for a third party and did not believe the post mortem would affect this decision.
Father Liam McNamara, who lives next door to the couple, said their children, Robert and Noreen, "were devastated at the circumstances of their parents death".
