A 21-year-old process worker appeared before a special court in Lurgan RUC station yesterday arising from a disturbance after an Apprentice Boys parade in Portadown, Co Armagh, on Monday.

Mr Lee Conrad Mahood, Deramore Drive, Portadown, was charged with causing grievous bodily harm to Mr Michael John Duffy, riotous behaviour and resisting an RUC constable.

An RUC detective constable told the court that when arrested, charged and cautioned, Mr Mahood replied "Nothing to say" to each of the three charges. He was remanded in custody to appear at Craigavon Magistrates' Court on April 23rd.
