A native of Croagh in Co Limerick, newly elected TD Tom Neville (40) is the son of retired Fine Gael Deputy Dan Neville, former chair of the Fine Gael parliamentary party and president of the Irish Association of Suicidology. Tom Neville took his father's seat on Limerick County Council in 2004. He didn't contest the 2009 local elections but successfully ran again in 2014. A UL business graduate he began his working life as a secondary school technology teacher. A musician and radio presenter, Neville quipped how he has had "politics in his Cornflakes since he was 10-years-old," after he successfully contested his first general election.
