The Sinn Fein president, Mr Gerry Adams, has called for the publication of the 120 Ansbacher names and said the tax system needs to be reformed.
Mr Adams also accused the Labour Party leader, Mr Ruairi Quinn, of disingenuousness and opportunism in calling yesterday for PAYE workers to be repaid the hundreds of million of pounds estimated to have been lost to the Exchequer. Speaking in Dublin yesterday at a presentation to reformed drug addicts taking part in an after-care scheme, Mr Adams said successive governments had created a culture of tax evasion.
"All the main parties collaborated or turned a blind eye to what financial institutions had been doing, which was allowing rich people to behave with impunity," he said.
The whole system has been seen to be rotten and the Government should take its courage in its hands and change it.
