LONDON police have issued details of a lorry believed to have been used in the Canary Wharf bomb attack.
The police also said they were extremely concerned that the IRA was preparing to carry out further attacks. Assistant Commissioner David Veness warned that attacks could occur anywhere and at any time and urged the public to exercise vigilance.
The Anti Terrorist Squad at Scotland Yard appealed to anyone who saw a blue flat back lorry, possibly on a Ford Cargo chassis, with the registration number C292 GWG, to contact them immediately. They said the lorry was carrying false number plates and its appearance could have been altered in the past few weeks.
A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: "We are particularly looking for anyone who saw it being driven through the area near South Quay to get in touch."
Detectives said they were anxious to speak to anyone who might have sold the lorry or carried out work on it.
It is, understood that a policeman from Limehouse Station, PC Roger de Graaf, checked the vehicle just minutes before the explosion.
