Police in England have arrested a 15-year-old boy in connection with the stabbing to death of a teenager in Liverpool, Merseyside police said today.
Police were called to an address in the Old Swan district of Liverpool early yesterday morning where they found 16-year-old Luke Howard had been stabbed. He later died in hospital.
"It appears that this incident took place following an argument at a party at this property," said Superintendent Graham Yip.
"We are appealing for anyone who was at the address during the course of this party, to come forward and make contact with police."
In a separate incident in Liverpool on Saturday a 22-year-old man is critically ill in hospital after being stabbed in the Dovecot district of the city and a 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Official figures released in July revealed there were more than 22,000 serious offences in England and Wales involving knives in 2007-8, although crime fell significantly overall.
