Police make arrests after Lurgan arms find

The Police Service of Northern Ireland has arrested a number of people after guns were found in a house in Co Armagh.

The find is thought to be linked to dissident republicans. It is believed at least one woman was among those detained.

The arrests came after a rifle, two handguns, ammunition and a bomb detonator were discovered at a house in Lurgan.

Police said they carried out a planned search of the property in the nationalist Kilwilkie estate.

Ballistic tests will be done on the weapons to find out if they have been used in attacks. Clothing and what may have been two stun guns were taken away for examination.
