Police in Derry are investigating the rape of a 14-year-old girl in a playground.
The attack took place at 10.30pm on Saturday as the girl was being escorted to her grandmother’s home by a male friend. The man was reportedly struck on the head and the girl was attacked as he lay on the ground.
A PSNI spokesman said the alleged attacker is in his 20s and of average height.
“He spoke with a strong local accent. He was wearing denim jeans and a hooded top with the hood pulled over his head.
