Folkestone - British police used CS spray and batons as they arrested 14 suspected illegal immigrants on a Channel ferry yesterday. Officers were called after violence broke out on board the Seacat ferry from Boulogne to Folkestone in Kent.
The group of people from Turkish Kurdistan were confronted by the ferry's security staff after they were seen clambering out of a camper van. Several of the men armed themselves with broken bottles and screw drivers and Kent Police were called to meet the ferry when it docked at Folkestone harbour.
