Police today arrested two men in connection with a bomb attack that killed human rights lawyer Mrs Rosemary Nelson.

Police today arrested two men in connection with a bomb attack that killed human rights lawyer Mrs Rosemary Nelson.

An investigative team headed by Norfolk Deputy Chief Constable Colin Port said the two men, a 29-year-old and a 60-year-old, were arrested in an operation near Portadown, Co Armagh.

They will be interviewed later today at Lisburn police station. Two handguns with ammunition were recovered, Norfolk Police said.

"These weapons will be subjected to forensic examination by ballistic experts," the police statement said.

The Port investigation was set up after Mrs Nelson was killed in a booby trap explosion outside her home in Lurgan, Co Armagh, in March 1999.
