Plaque to honour murder victim

A plaque dedicated to the murdered rugby player Shane Geoghegan will be unveiled in Limerick next Monday.

A plaque dedicated to the murdered rugby player Shane Geoghegan will be unveiled in Limerick next Monday.

The tribute will be made at Limerick County Hall following a civic reception by Limerick County Council in memory of the 24-year-old.

Shane was shot dead in a case of mistaken identity in the early hours of November 9th, 2008 as he made his way home from watching a rugby match with friends in Dooradoyle.

Members of his family along with representatives of the Shane Geoghegan Trust will attend the July 12th civic reception.
