Kinshasa - Planes from forces backing President Laurent Kabila have bombed the rebel-held, north-eastern Congolese town of Kisangani, killing some 40 people, aid workers said yesterday. The workers, who were in contact with residents in the jungle city, said the attack occurred on Sunday night. Kinsangani, the Democratic Republic of the Congo's third city, is the most important town held by rebels who took up arms against Mr Kabila in August.
