Nafplio -Fourteen British and Dutch plane spotters, who have spent more than a month in Greek prisons accused of spying, failed to obtain bail and faced another night in detention yesterday.

British and Dutch officials said none of their nationals would be released before today because of the complexity of getting and posting the five million drachma (£1,165) bail set for each prisoner.

"There was too little time for the money. No one will be coming out today but hopefully everyone will be out tomorrow morning," British consul Mr Donald Holder said.
