Efforts to relaunch the Evening News newspaper are ongoing and backers are being sought to invest in the company, the paper's chief executive said yesterday.
Mr Gerry Mahady said a minimum of £2 million would be necessary to recommence publishing at the company's offices in Donnybrook, Dublin.
Operations were suspended on September 9th after 14 weeks of business, when the initial capital ran out.
He said the company had equipment and key personnel still in place, including its editor, Mr Dick O'Riordan.
