ABSENTEEISM in the workplace could be reduced by 25 per cent saving employers hundreds of millions of euro if they provide rehab physiotherapy for affected workers, the launch of the 27th annual conference of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP) has heard.
Announcing details of the conference over the weekend, Limerick, ISCP president, Annette Shanahan said absenteeism is costing Irish businesses more than €1 billion every year.
Ms Shanahan said that employers would net vast savings if they adopted the same approach to employee absenteeism as sports players do to their injuries.
More than 400 delegates are due to attend the 27th ISCP annual conference, which takes place at The Strand Hotel, in Limerick on November 12th and 13th.
