A special working group to examine the establishment of a personal injuries tribunal has been set up by the Minister of State for Commerce, Science and Technology, Mr Pat Rabbitte.
It will be made up of Mr Dan McAuley, former chief executive of the Federated Union of Employers, as chairman; Mr Tony Wall of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions, and Mr Jim McCormack of Accident and General insurance.
Mr Rabbitte said yesterday the Government wanted to create an efficient, prompt, low cost and fair system for coping with the consequences of personal injuries from the point of view of the individual, society and the economy.
