THE leader of Britain's Referendum Party, Sir James Goldsmith, is suffering from cancer of the pancreas.
His daughter Jemima is believed to have visited him in a Paris hospital on her way to join her husband Imran Khan in Pakistan, where the former cricketer runs a cancer hospital.
On one occasion during the British election campaign, Sir James collapsed in a helicopter after canvassing as he had not eaten for 10 days and had just undergone chemotherapy, the Sunday Telegraph reported yesterday. His party campaigned on an anti Europe platform with a key demand that a referendum be held on whether Britain remain in the European Union. It received around 3 per cent of total votes cast.

Netanyahu - The Road to Power reveals that Sara Netanyahu recently demanded in vain that a secretary in the prime minister's office be sacked because she was too pretty, according to extracts published in the Maariv newspaper yesterday. The book, by journalists Ben Kaspit and Ilan Kfir, also recounts an angry telephone conversation between Sara and Communications Minister Limor Livnat, whom she PM's wife suspected of having an affair with Bibi, as Netanyahu is known popularly.
Livnat is reported to have said: "You're really crazy. Now I believe everything I've heard about you.
