BOB Dylan, Eric Clapton and rock legends from The Who are to perform during the biggest rock concert in London's Hyde Park for 20 years. Up to 150,000 people are expected for the June 29th event, with Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey performing the rock opera Quadrophenia.
American actress Stephanie Powers (52) yesterday accepted a libel pay out estimated at £70,000 over the Sun's claims that she sexually harassed and assaulted one of her male assistants. Powers, best known for her role in the TV series Hart to Hart, received a public apology in court over an article last May which also alleged that she was an alcoholic.
Liza Minnelli dispelled rumours of ill health when she attended the opening of Richard Branson's Virgin Megastore in New York. The star of the film Cabaret looked well and happy as she toured the vast store in Times Square.
Meanwhile, a former manager for Virgin Atlantic Airways, Elizabeth Hlinko, has sued Branson for sexual harassment. The suit, filed in a Manhattan federal court, also accuses the airline and another executive of discrimination that led to the woman's dismissal by Virgin in July 1995. Branson denies the charges.
