Balloonist Brian Jones (51) yesterday described how he and his co-pilot shared every possible emotion during their momentous journey around the world.
He thanked his companion, Bertrand Piccard, as well as the Breitling support team which helped them win the last great prize in aviation.
Piccard said he and Jones were dedicating their success to children, to show that realising dreams was indeed possible.
"The flight is the triumph of a dream but it is also a triumph of perseverance and endurance, because to get that success we had to endure many failures.
"We are dedicating this to children because it is beautiful to have dreams but it is important to realise that it is necessary to have perseverance and hard work to make dreams come true."
