Javelin thrower Tessa Sanderson added another gold medal to her collection yesterday when she was made an OBE at Buckingham Palace by Prince Charles.
Sanderson has attended six Olympics and won a gold medal in 1984 at Los Angeles, after which she was made MBE by Queen Elizabeth.
Queen Elizabeth went through a supermarket checkout yesterday while touring a holiday village.
In what is believed to be her first visit to a supermarket, she chatted to a till operator and customers at the food hall in Oasis Lakeland Forest Village in Whinfell, in the north-west of England.

The BBC is to repeat a Mrs Merton Show tonight despite being inundated with complaints from viewers after comedian Ber- nard Manning made several racist remarks during the first showing. Callers were upset at comments he made about black and Asian troops.
He also made an Irish joke and despite several requests from Mrs Merton - Caroline Aherne - and fellow comedian Richard Wilson, Manning said he would not give up the racist aspect of his act.
French actor Alain Delon (62), interviewed about his latest film, 1 chance sur 2 (1 chance out of 2), released this week to poor reviews, has decided to quit movies.
The film, a cops and robbers comedy, co-stars Jean-Paul Bel mondo, Delon's old accomplice with whom he made such hits as Borsalino.
"I think I've said everything I wanted to say in cinema. I don't feel like saying anything else. I think I'd better retire," he said.
