An 82-year old pedestrian has died following a road accident at Tullygullion, Kilcogy in Co Cavan at 9.05 p.m. on Sunday.
The accident happened when the man was knocked down by a car as he was crossing the main Cavan/Granard Road.
The man was taken by ambulance to Cavan General Hospital but died from his injuries a short time later.
His name has not yet been released.
