Skopje - The Macedonian government yesterday gave the go-ahead to a peace plan put forward by President Boris Trajkovski to offer a partial amnesty to ethnic Albanian rebels, which would for the first time allow international troops to oversee the guerrillas' demilitarisation.
The Defence Minister, Mr Vlado Buckovski, said the government had accepted the plan as an uneasy ceasefire between the army and the rebels survived its first full day.
