PEACE (Prayer, enterprise and Christian effort), a peace movement, yesterday announced its Peace People of the Year Awards 1998.
The awards go to five people: the Minister for Foreign Affairs; Mr Andrews; Dr Mo Mowlam, Secretary of State for Northern Ireland; Senator George Mitchell, chairman of the Northern Ireland peace talks; Dame Veronica Sutherland, former British ambassador, and Mr Charles Martin, project co-ordinator, Shankill Exchange Group, Dublin.
The PEACE group instituted its awards in 1989 to honour people who have worked assiduously in promoting peace and reconciliation in Ireland.
