Delegates at a weekend conference of PDFORRA, the representative association, for soldiers, sailors and airmen, have voted to accept the Programme for Prosperity and Fairness. However, the conference reserved the right to submit additional claims should the Government concede pay increases to other groups.
Mr John Lucey, the organisation's general secretary, described the meeting as stormy and said a motion to defer acceptance of PPF was tabled but defeated. He said the pay issue would become pivotal if measures are not introduced to curb inflation.
