The Houses of the Oireachtas service appears to be pressing ahead with an idea to broadcast more political debate from the Dáil and Seanad chambers, .
The service yesterday put out a tender seeking to engage an independent expert to advise on and assist in the establishment and operation of a parliamentary television channel.
The winning candidate will be tasked with advising on the options available to the Houses of the Oireachtas service, identifying the equipment that would be required and assisting in preparing a business plan.
