The Palestinian leadership today condemned the suicide bombing in west Jerusalem, as Israel blamed Palestinian leader Mr Yasser Arafat for the blast.
"We totally condemn this attack on Israeli citizens in Jerusalem this afternoon and ask (US) President George Bush to send General Zinni back to the region to resume the negotiations as soon as possible," it said in a statement, referring to US envoy Anthony Zinni.
The US has recently hardened its stance against the Palestinians. Yesterday the US President Mr George W Bush called on Mr Arafat to act against terrorism saying he was "very disappointed" in him.
