A Palestinian man shot and wounded by Israeli troops on the edge of the Gaza Strip last night has died.
The Israeli army admitted to shooting dead two other Palestinian men in the same incident, accusing them of trying to plant a bomb near the Karni crossing point between Israel and the Palestinian territory.
But the Palestinians said the men had been trying to enter Israel to carry out petty crimes rather than for politically motivated attacks.
They said they had been told the bodies of the three men would be returned by the army tomorrow.

The latest death brings to 872 the number of people killed during the year-long Palestinian uprising, including 673 Palestinians and 176 Israelis.
