Cricket:Sentencing in the match-fixing trial of three Pakistan cricketers has been adjourned until 10am tomorrow morning. Former Test captain Salman Butt, 27, and fast bowlers Mohammad Asif, 28, and Mohammad Amir, 19, plotted to bowl deliberate no-balls in the Lord's Test against England last summer as part of a lucrative betting scam.
Butt and Asif were both found guilty of conspiracy to cheat and conspiracy to accept corrupt payments charge by a jury at Southwark Crown Court yesterday. Amir had already pleaded guilty to both charges in September, while it was revealed today that agent Mazhar Majeed had also done the same.
