More than three million young people over the age of 17 are expected to attend the Catholic Church's millennium World Youth Day in Rome next year from August 15th to 20th. Over a million people, including Pope John Paul, attended the last World Youth Day in Paris in 1997.

The Catholic Youth Council and the Dublin Diocesan Youth Service will be organising Irish young people for the trip next summer. All-in costs will be about £500 a head. Information is available from Ms Geraldine Wall at the Jubilee Office, Catholic Youth Council, Arran Quay, Dublin 7. Phone (01) 872-5055.
