Offaly supermarket fined for price offences

A supermarket in Co Offaly has been prosecuted for price display offences by the Director of Consumer Affairs.

A supermarket in Co Offaly has been prosecuted for price display offences by the Director of Consumer Affairs.

The offences were uncovered during inspections of O'Callaghan's Centra, Ferbane, in September and October of last year and relate to the failure to display prices of certain grocery products

The owners of the shop were fined €300 for each of six counts related to non-price display. The judge also took six counts concerning unit pricing into account. Costs of €250 and expenses of €250 were also awarded.

This is the second prosecution undertaken by the Director against an Offaly supermarket this month.
