A handful of Occupy Dame Street members marched from the Garden of Remembrance to the Central Bank on Saturday ahead of today’s one year anniversary of the movement.
The group occupied the space outside the bank on this day last year in solidarity with the Global Occupy movement calling for social, political and economic change and rejecting the role in Ireland’s affairs of the European Central Bank and International Monetary Fund.
The small group gathered at the Central Bank around a banner, “Make a Stand, Time is Now”.
Planned workshops at the bank did not attract the expected numbers. Although there was a strong Garda presence, officers said no problems were reported.
