SCREEN LEGEND Maureen O’Hara has invited movie buffs from across the world to join her at a summer festival in west Cork.
The 90-year-old Quiet Manstar will talk about her incredible career at the week-long Maureen O'Hara Classic Film Festival in Glengarriff in June.
Organisers said the actor, who lives in the picturesque seaside town, was looking forward to meeting her legion of fans.
The film festival committee also announced that Rory Flynn, daughter of Hollywood swashbuckler Errol Flynn, and Pat Shamroy-Shaw, daughter of Oscar-winning cinematographer Leon Shamroy, will attend.
Although full details of screenings have not yet been released, Irish film director Se Merry Doyle will present his acclaimed documentary Dreaming The Quiet Man, which had its world premiere at the Corona Cork Film Festival last November.
A festival spokesman said: “Maureen O’Hara will join her fans from near and far for a further look into her long and illustrious career.
“There will also be live entertainment and music, original costumes and poster displays, presentations and lectures, quizzes and featurettes, an opening night dinner and an award show.”
Despite her age, the energetic actor shows no signs of slowing down and in the past year made more public appearances than ever across the country.
