The wild success of the NuTron diet, as reported on these pages a few weeks back, has led those inspired restaurateurs Christy and Moira Tighe, of Sligo's Cromleach Lodge, to respond with special menus for anyone who is on the diet.

"We have had a great response so far," says Christy Tighe. "People on the diet are delighted to know that they can actually eat and enjoy good food and most people are pleased that somebody is prepared to take into account their individual needs. All we require is that on booking, we are sent the test results and we will then prepare an individual menu especially for that person."

Well, I reckon if you could enjoy what the team at Cromleach prepared for one guest, as part of their gourmet tasting menu, then you might reckon the NuTron was good news. Baked cod with a lemon dressing and diced tomato. Warm salad of marinated lamb fillet and organic lentils. Light vegetable soup. Caramelised pork on a bed of sauteed cabbage and toasted sesame seeds. Mixed salad leaves with St Maure goat's cheese. A selection of desserts. If this is a diet, then lead me to Cromleach Lodge!
