An order cancelling the registration of a nursing home in Co Wicklow was confirmed at the District Court today.
The Health Information and Quality Authority secured the deregistration of Glenbervie Nursing Home, on Sidmonton Road in Bray, after a series of inspections raised serious concerns about its operation.
The 27-bed nursing home already had an interim order against it which revoked its licence to operate.
Edward Evans of Landwell Solicitors, on behalf of the authority, told the court the nursing home's owner Noel Gillooly, was consenting to the order. Mr Gillooly was not present in the court.
Counsel for the HSE said the 27 residents had been moved from the home to alternative accommodation and the nursing home was now closed.
Judge Patrick Clyne confirmed the order and said he was aware Mr Gillooly had fully co-operated with the HSE and Hiqa.
"I commend him for his co-operation," he said.
Inspections carried out between September 30th, 2009 and March 8th of this year raised concerns about the safety of patients at the home.
