The Clare Champion recently predicted that local Fianna Fail TD Tony Killeen would be promoted as Minister for State when, as the paper expected, Ned O'Keeffe retires to his pig farm. The paper sang Killeen's praises, saying that the only reason he had not been promoted long ago was the opposition of his constituency colleague, the Minister for Arts, Sile de Valera. Well, the promotion has not happened - at least not yet. As for the suggestion of de Valera jealousy, Killeen told Quidnunc - a trifle innocently - "I don't know what evidence the paper has for saying that".
