Norway's Henrik Bjornstad will take a one-shot lead into the final day of the Omega Hong Kong Open after a brilliant third round at Fanling.
Bjornstad fired eight birdies and an eagle in a 10-under-par 61, just one outside the lowest ever round on the European Tour, to jump from a share of 22nd place at halfway into the lead.
It gave the 22-year-old from Oslo a 17-under-par total of 196 and a one-stroke lead over Australian Adam Scott with Spain's Jose Maria Olazabal and England's Mark Foster another shot adrift.
Bjornstad was even on course for the first sub-60 round on the tour when he went to the turn in 28 and was nine under for his first 12 holes.
"Everything just went my way, it was a really great day," he said. "After the 12th I was really thinking about shooting 59 but I missed a three-foot putt for birdie on 13 and another chance on 14."
Bjornstad, in only his third full season on tour, did hole from 45 feet for birdie on the 16th but could not birdie the final two holes and had to settle for a 61 and new course record.
"I feel like it could have been a little better but you can't really complain after a 61."
Ireland's Paul McGinley lies nine shots off the pace after a two-over par round of 74.
