Northern Ireland-based Leaf Electronics has announced a £2.5 million one-year contract with CERN (Conseil Europeen pour la Recherche Nucleaire).
Speaking to ireland.com, Leaf managing director Mr Simon Christie said the contract would mean the creation of 25 jobs in its Mallusk plant in Co Antrim.
Leaf has been contracted by CERN to produce power converters, which will be used in its European Laboratory for Particle Physics.
"Prototyping of the converters will begin in the early part of the new year," Mr Christie said. "We also have other tenders being considered with CERN and hope this contract will result in further work with them".
Founded in 1987 and headquartered in Newtownabbey, Leaf is a family run company employing 200 people.
It produces products for the telecommunications, business equipment, health care, security, consumer electronics and audio sectors.
