Ninety one VIPs are currently receiving police protection in Northern Ireland
at an annual cost of €33.63 million (Stg£21 million), it was disclosed today.
Around 400 officers are employed on protection duties, Northern Ireland Minister Jane Kennedy said in a House of Commons written reply.
Duties range from escorting and "close protection" to static security at private homes, she told Democratic Unionist Iris Robinson (Strangford).
