There was no winner of tonight's record lotto jackpot of €17 million. The winning numbers were 9, 25, 26, 31,33 and 41. The bonus number was 42.
The prize fund will now roll over for the 16th time on Saturday and will be worth €18 million. There has been no outright winner since Saturday May 3rd, making it the highest single total since the game began 20 years ago.
The previous biggest prize was picked up last July by the Cunningham family from Cork when they scooped €16 million.
The biggest National Lottery win so far this year was on April 26th, when a jackpot of €15,658,143 was banked by a single winner. The prize was eventually claimed by a Dublin family who purchased their ticket in Rowlagh News in Clondalkin, Dublin.
Picking a winner is worth €15,000 to the agent who sells the ticket, although they have to pay tax on it, unlike the lucky winner or winners of the jackpot itself.
Now in its 21st year and with annual turnover of €750 million, the National Lottery operates 20 games, of which 13 are scratch-card varieties, and has a network of 3,600 retail agents.
