Reactions to the Leaving Certificate Applied engineering paper varied from "tough" to "fine".
The 11 boys and five girls in Newbridge Vocational School, Co Kildare, had plenty of time to answer the 23-page paper. Acting principal Mr Eltin Jones said the paper was in line with previous years and there were no shocks.
Mr Martin Gormley, secretary of the Engineering Technology Teachers Association in Donegal, and a teacher in Mulroy College, Milford, echoed this comment, noting the similarities to previous years.
Question four, which dealt with safety issues, was the most popular with students, he said. It featured a sketch of a construction worker and asked students to list three safety features he had observed, giving a reason why each is important.
