An Armagh court has been told that a salesman has denied killing his girlfriend in her Armagh home at the weekend.

Mr Gary Edward Scullion (35) appeared at the city's Magistrate's Court yesterday. He is charged with murdering a mother of two, Mrs Pamela Stevenson (31).

The body of Mrs Stevenson was found by her 12 year old daughter on the kitchen floor at her terrace home in Orangefield Drive.

A detective inspector told the brief hearing that when charged, Mr Scullion had replied "not guilty".

Mr Scullio was remanded in custody until October 23rd.
