Gas prices in Northern Ireland are being cut by 19 per cent from the start of next month, it was announced today.
The reduction by Phoenix Natural Gas follows a cut of 22.1 per cent at the start of the year and brings prices back to 2006 levels that compare favourably with that in the Republic and rest of the UK, the Utility Regulator said.
The cut make Northern Ireland the first part of the UK to enjoy two substantial price cuts from a major supplier this year.
Phoenix said the average domestic bill will fall by £104 a year, giving an average bill of £437 or £8.40 a week.
