Horse Racing Ireland has sanctioned the addition of 12 new fixtures for the 2002 calendar, the majority of which arose due to recent meetings being abandoned because of poor weather.
Seven of the fixtures are rescheduled (details below) while five new autumn dates will incorporate three Flat and two National Hunt meetings (see below).
"The recent weeks have seen an unprecedented level of abandonments and the Fixtures Committee of Horse Racing Ireland has reacted quickly to reschedule all the lost meetings and to allocate the extra autumn fixtures," explained Jason Morris, Director of Racing.
"The extra fixtures will provide much needed additional opportunities for the horse population at this time of year."
