JERUSALEM - The Israeli leader, Mr Benjamin Netanyahu, came under pressure yesterday to sack his justice minister over the Ronnie Bar On corruption scandal. Mr Netanyahu and the Justice Minister, Mr Tzachi Hanegbi, escaped indictment on Sunday over the appointment last January of an attorney general. But prosecutors' "real suspicions" about their roles in the affair have prompted demands for action against Mr Hanegbi from same within the government.
"I have no intention of abandoning my post," Mr Hanegbi told Israel Radio yesterday.
