New Lord Mayor of Dublin elected

Labour councillor Paddy Bourke has been elected Lord Mayor of Dublin.

Labour councillor Paddy Bourke has been elected Lord Mayor of Dublin.

Councillor Bourke, who has represented the Artane Ward since 1991,  was elected at the Annual General Meeting of Dublin City Council tonight.

Councillor Anne Carter, also of the Labour Party, who has represented the Donaghmede Ward since 2004, was elected Deputy Lord Mayor.

Councillor Bourke replaces current Lord Mayor, the Independent councillor Vincent Jackson.
