New alibi evidence could free a man serving a 16 year sentence for the attempted murder of loyalist leader Johnny Adair.
Stephen Larkin (22), from Jamaica Road, in the Ardoyne area of Belfast, was convicted last year following a 1993 gun attack on Adair, who was later jailed for directing UFF terrorism.
Larkin, who is appealing his conviction and sentence, maintains that he was wrongly convicted. Two witnesses have said that he could not have been involved in the Adair murder attempt as he was with them in Highfield Social Club during the time the shooting took place in March, 1993. Both gave Adair's reputation as their reason for not coming forward at the original trial.
The appeal was adjourned until today.
