Mr Kevin Duffy has been appointed as the next chairman of the Labour Court.
Mr Duffy, who is the current deputy chairman of the court, will take over from the current chairman Mr Finbarr Flood.
Announcing the appointment, the Minister for Labour Affairs, Mr Frank Fahey, thanked Mr Flood for his "significant service and for the key role he has played in industrial relations matters in Ireland both as chairman since 1998 and before that as deputy chairman of the Labour Court between 1994 and 1998."
Mr Fahey described Mr Flood as being "well-liked" and a "very highly-regarded chairman".

Mr Duffy, who has occupied the position as deputy chairman since 1997, will assume the position of chairman on Monday.
