THE AER Lingus winter schedule will see new winter routes to Europe and an increase in services on existing routes.
The three new routes introduced this year for the summer timetable – Dublin to Verona and Stockholm, and Cork to Brussels – will continue over the winter.
The Dublin to Copenhagen route returns after a gap of four years and will be a daily service.
The winter timetable operates from the end of October until the end of March 2013.
Frequencies will increase on the European routes to Amsterdam, Berlin and Vienna.
The services to Bordeaux will continue with two flights per week and three per week to Venice.
The popular winter sun destination of Lanzarote will increase to five services per week, and Tenerife will have four flights per week.
The transatlantic routes, where growth was up 12.5 per cent last month, will have an extra service each on the Dublin to Orlando and Shannon to New York routes.
Dublin will continue to have a double daily service to New York.
The only transatlantic route reducing over the winter will be Dublin-Boston, where services go from 11 to seven per week.
Improved connectivity on the timetables has meant an increase in passengers from UK and European airports connecting through Dublin.
Aer Lingus has adjusted fares to make transiting through Ireland competitive.
The opportunity to use the pre-clearance of US immigration and customs controls in Dublin is also attracting more travellers.
