An application by Catherine Nevin for legal aid to fund her appeal against a life sentence for the murder of her husband will be heard by the Court of Criminal Appeal today.
The application will be made by Nevin's legal team and Nevin will have the option of attending the hearing. Sources said it was unlikely she would attend.
Nevin was jailed for life last March for the murder of her husband, Tom, at Jack White's Inn, Co Wicklow, in 1996. He had been shot in the chest at close range and died from lack of oxygen to the brain, an inquest heard.
